Welcome to our family cabin, located at the center of the Gunflint Trail in Grand Marais, Minnesota. The trail and The Boundary Waters are very special places for our family. We dream of relocating to the trail someday, but until we do – we want to share our family cabin with folks who share our love for the Boundary Waters.

Cozy cabin with exceptional views of the lake

We have rented several houses and many resort cabins in the Grand Marais area and this one is my favorite in terms of location, value, and amenities. Clean, comfortable, lots of supplies and recreational equipment.

Great dock for your boat and swimming is exceptional. Screened in porch is a big bonus.

The property owners and managers care about your stay and are very responsive. Will be book again!

The Cabin

Nestled in Grand Marais, MN on Poplar Lake midway up the Gunflint Trail, the Bronze Bear cabin provides easy access to 3 BWCA entry points, restaurants and bars, fishing and hiking. Large windows and a screen porch offer stunning lake views. Explore Grand Marais—chosen multiple times as one of America’s best small towns—or launch from one of two large docks ourucanoes, kayaks, or paddle boat.

Enjoy the open layout with floor to ceiling windows full of sunlight and views of the lake as well as huge, beautiful cedar trees and sometimes even a moose or two (rumor has it that our property is a favorite grazing spot on this road!). There are two bedrooms (1 queen each, sleeps 4 total) and 1 bathroom.

The well-equipped kitchen includes dishes, pots and pans, stove/oven, microwave, and coffee maker. Gas fireplace and screen porch with a comfy sectional couch.

The Perfect Location

At our cabin we have the best of both worlds. It feels as remote as you can be while on property. Our dock view is of the entry to the Boundary Waters. The cabin is on an acre of propety with 200 feet of lake sure to explore. There are three entry points to the boundary waters on our lake, if you want to use our cabin as a base for roughing it.

At the same time, we are on the main lake at the “social” center of the Gunflint Trail. If you need creature comforts, there are (at least!) three great dining options and a fantastic coffee shop that are only 5 minutes (or less) from our cabin.
